I Am Tired of Being Asked What’s for Dinner 😅

My husband asks me every single day what are we having for dinner.

Every. Single. Day.

And it is starting to make me lose my mind. I work and get tired too. I still have to think about groceries, cooking, and cleaning.

Sometimes I just want to come home and not make another decision. I did not get married to become a full time dinner planner. I want a partner, not a daily food order question. And someone who contributes nothing….

Does anyone else get annoyed by this too? What did you do?

... Read moreDealing with constant questions like "What's for dinner?" can feel exhausting, especially after a long day of work and other responsibilities. It's important to acknowledge that planning meals and cooking are time-consuming tasks that can add stress when shouldering the entire burden alone. The phrase from the image, "Did I Get Married to Cook Dinner For Him???", highlights a common frustration many partners face when meal preparation feels like a solo job. One effective approach is to openly communicate with your partner about how their repeated questioning makes you feel and discuss ways to share the dinner planning responsibilities. Perhaps create a weekly meal plan together or take turns deciding and preparing meals. Introducing a shared grocery list or meal prep sessions can also help lighten the load and make mealtime more collaborative. Additionally, consider simplifying dinners or having easy go-to meals for busy days to reduce decision fatigue. Using tools like meal delivery kits or batch cooking on days off can also ease daily cooking demands. Remember that partnerships thrive on mutual support and contribution. Encouraging your partner to actively participate in meal decisions and preparation fosters teamwork and reduces the pressure on a single person. Many couples find that sharing these tasks improves communication and strengthens their relationship. If you feel overwhelmed, also try to set boundaries kindly, explaining that some days you need a break from decision-making. Your emotional well-being is just as important as keeping the household running smoothly. By taking small steps towards shared responsibility, you can transform dinner time from a repeated source of stress into an opportunity for connection and cooperation.
