6 hours later and we made it without anybody throwing up, including myself! 🤣🐭✨ #roadtrip #mom #disneytrip #travel
Taking long road trips with family, especially with kids, can be challenging but also incredibly rewarding. From my own experiences, planning ahead makes all the difference. For instance, frequent bathroom breaks are a must to keep everyone comfortable and prevent discomfort during the drive — like our stops noted at 0.4 miles and at West during this trip. Bringing familiar items such as pillows or favorite snacks ("Lola + my pillow" were essentials) helps kids feel secure and entertained, reducing anxiety and motion sickness risks. I always make sure to pack food specifically for the kids, which keeps hunger tantrums at bay and adds to the overall smoothness of the trip. Driver rotation or making sure the driver has ample rest beforehand will enhance safety and ensure the journey is pleasant for everyone. Entertainment options like travel vlogs or interactive games can also keep spirits high. Overall, with good planning, patience, and a positive attitude, a family road trip can be both a memorable and fun adventure, creating lasting memories before arriving at exciting destinations like Disney.
