Kong or Chong?
Chong Chong, the water dog, the kong, the krathong, the krathong, the krathong, the krathong, the krathong, the krathong, the krathong (southern prathong) [2] (scientific name: Phrynoidis aspera) is a large type of toad amphibian found in Thailand.
Chong is the largest toad found in Thailand. The back area has poisonous water, clear buttons, big eyes, black brown body. The male often appears dark in stripes on both the front and back legs. The underbelly area is dull white, mature size is about 22 centimeters, the legs are 6-8 inches, the front legs are shorter than the back legs, the toes are 4 inches, can change the body color according to the environment. The female is larger than the male.
A crook is an animal found only in evergreen forests, where it lives along forest bodies of water such as waterfall streams or creeks, often living in water rather than on land, often hiding along large logs or boulders, tricky at night, staple foods include insects and small aquatic animals.
There is a barking dog-like cry, so it is called "water dog" [3], with a rhythmic behavior of 6-10 seconds each. A round egg may be attached to the edge of the source of living water. The breeding season is in the rainy season until the beginning of winter.
หลายคนสงสัยว่า “กง” กับ “จงโคร่ง” คือชนิดเดียวกันไหม จากที่เจอคำเรียกในภาคใต้และดูจากลักษณะแล้ว ส่วนใหญ่หมายถึง “จงโคร่ง” หรือที่บางพื้นที่เรียก “หมาน้ำ” นี่แหละค่ะ เป็นคางคกขนาดใหญ่ที่มักเจอตามป่าดิบชื้น โดยเฉพาะบริเวณลำธาร น้ำตก และลำห้วยที่น้ำใสเย็น ๆ จุดสังเกตเวลาพบจงโคร่งในธรรมชาติ (เผื่อไปเที่ยวน้ำตกอย่างน้ำตกลำปีแล้วเห็นผ่าน ๆ) - ขนาดตัวค่อนข้างใหญ่กว่าคางคกทั่วไป โตเต็มที่ราว ๆ 20 กว่าเซนติเมตร - สีออกน้ำตาลดำ และมีปุ่มนูนตามหลังที่เป็นต่อมพิษ ดูชัดเวลาเจอไฟฉายส่อง - ตาใหญ่ และขาหลังยาวกว่าขาหน้าชัดเจน ทำให้ดูปราดเปรียวเวลาลงน้ำ - บางตัวมีลายเข้มเป็นแถบ ๆ บริเวณขา โดยเฉพาะตัวผู้ พฤติกรรมที่ทำให้คนจำได้ง่ายคือ “เสียงร้องเหมือนสุนัขเห่า” เลยได้ชื่อว่าหมาน้ำ ถ้าไปช่วงกลางคืนหรือหัวค่ำแถวลำธาร แล้วได้ยินเสียงร้องเป็นจังหวะ ๆ (เหมือนร้องค้างทีละหลายวินาที) มีโอกาสสูงว่าจะเป็นจงโคร่ง เพราะเขามักหากินตอนกลางคืน อาหารหลักคือแมลงและสัตว์น้ำตัวเล็ก ๆ ถ้าอยากเพิ่มโอกาสเจอแบบไม่รบกวนสัตว์ แนะนำให้เดินเบา ๆ ใช้ไฟฉายแสงอ่อน ไม่ส่องจี้ตานาน ๆ และสังเกตตามก้อนหินใหญ่ ๆ ขอนไม้ใกล้น้ำ เพราะจงโคร่งชอบหลบพักตรงนั้น ที่สำคัญไม่ควรจับหรือเล่นกับตัวมันนะคะ ต่อมพิษบนหลังสามารถระคายเคืองผิวได้ และถ้าเผลอเอามือไปขยี้ตาหรือปากอาจแสบมาก ๆ ข้อควรระวังสำหรับคนพาสัตว์เลี้ยงไปเที่ยวน้ำตก: ถ้าน้องหมาชอบดม/งับสัตว์ริมลำธาร ให้คุมใกล้ ๆ เลยค่ะ เพราะคางคกกลุ่มนี้มีพิษป้องกันตัว หากสัตว์เลี้ยงไปเลียหรือคาบอาจเกิดอาการน้ำลายฟูมปากหรืออาเจียนได้ สุดท้าย ถ้าเจอจงโคร่งแถวน้ำตกหรือลำห้วย ให้ดูห่าง ๆ และปล่อยเขาอยู่ในที่ของเขาดีกว่า เราจะได้ชมความน่าทึ่งของสัตว์ป่าแบบปลอดภัยทั้งคนทั้งสัตว์ค่ะ
