This idea ties food to punishment, promoting disordered eating and exercise guilt. It implies you’re only worthy of eating if you’ve “burned it off.”

What’s true instead:

→ Food is fuel. You deserve to eat simply because you exist not because you worked out.

→ You can move to feel better, not to make up for meals.

✖️ “If you’re not sore, it didn’t work”

Why it’s inaccurate:

Soreness (DOMS) is not a reliable indicator of workout effectiveness. It just reflects that you did something new or intense not necessarily better.

What’s true instead:

→ Progress is in performance, not pain. Getting stronger, moving better, or recovering faster matters more than being sore.

✖️ “Smaller = better”

Why it’s toxic:
