April Books

Hello everyone, now that April is over here are the rest of the books that I read in the month of April!

Spell caster- it is an enemies to lover trope, they are college students at a witch academy, it has a good storyline with a little plot twist and spice I would say though it didn’t really “wow” me. Honestly the reason I even bought this book was because of the spray edges but the second book is coming out sometime this year snd I look forward to reading it.

Prince of song and sea- obviously it’s the little mermaid it’s crazy cause it’s exactly like the animated movie word for word but also in this book you get a little of the behind the scenes action so there are some scenes that aren’t in the movie.

Enigma- I love the dark gothic vibe it gives, it’s takes place at an academy and the FMC absolutely amazing like that girl strong woman lol and the spice is also great

Game on- this is an okay book but top tier will always be lights out. This one is about the best friend Tyler and honestly he’s kind of annoying like I really wanted to understand where he’s coming from and the actions he’s taking but I just can’t you know it’s very childish, like in the other two books I could understand why the MMC’s are the way that they are but just not Tyler and the only reason why it has a 4 star is cause of the spice it honestly makes up for the book.

5/1 Edited to

... Read moreAs an avid reader, April brought a refreshing mix of genres and storytelling styles that kept my reading list exciting. Spell Caster stood out with its enemies-to-lovers trope set at a witch academy, adding a mix of magic and college life vibes. The slight plot twists kept me curious, although it didn’t deliver a full wow factor. What truly intrigued me was the book’s edgy cover design, a fun bonus that led me to pick up the sequel when it launches later this year. Prince of Song and Sea offers a nostalgic yet fresh take on The Little Mermaid, recreating the beloved animated movie almost word-for-word while including exclusive behind-the-scenes scenes. It felt like diving deeper into a well-loved story, which I found surprisingly delightful. If you’re a fan of classic tales with extra context, this one’s a good pick. Enigma transported me into a dark, gothic academy setting, enriched by a compelling female main character who embodies strength and resilience. The ambiance of the story, combined with an engaging romance that didn’t shy away from spice, made this book a memorable read. It’s perfect for those who enjoy atmospheric settings with complex characters. Game On presented a more challenging experience. While it centers on Tyler, a best friend character whose motivations felt immature and hard to empathize with, the book redeemed itself with spicy scenes that added flavor. This mix of frustration and entertainment kept me engaged enough to rate it a solid four stars. Comparing it to its series counterpart, Lights Out, I’d say Game On is good but not quite top-tier. Overall, April's book haul gave me diverse narratives to explore—from magical academies to reinterpretations of classic fairy tales to emotionally charged romances. For readers looking for variety with both light and dark themes, these books offer something to fit many moods. Staying open to different writing styles and storylines can truly enrich your reading experience each month.

I Thought I Wouldn’t Like These Books 🥺
You know that feeling when you pick up a book, read the blurb, and think, “I’m probably not going to like this very much?” But you see everyone reading it and decide to give it a try (even if it sits on your shelf for a while before you read it)… and then it ends up being your favorite book?! 😂
