... Read moreOkay, so I just saw a picture that has me completely stumped – a truck parked in what looks like the most impossible spot ever, literally wedged between pillars and ramps! It instantly made me think of 'parkour for truck drivers,' because seriously, how else do you pull off a move like that? As a driver myself, I've had my share of tight squeezes, but this one takes the cake. It really makes you wonder, 'Is this even possible?' While we might not be doing literal jumps, the 'parkour' mindset for us truckers is all about precision, spatial awareness, and a bit of daring. When I encounter a 'desperate park' situation, like having to back into a tiny dock or navigate a cluttered yard, the first thing I do is get out and walk the area. Seriously, don't trust just your mirrors if you can't see the whole picture. I remember once having to deliver to an old warehouse where the only spot was 'between both of these pillars,' much like that incredible photo. I swear I felt like I was trying to thread a needle with a semi! My top 'parkour' tip? Slow and steady wins the race. Rushing is when mistakes happen, especially when you're trying to back into an 'impossible spot.' Take short pulls, make small adjustments, and constantly check your mirrors and surroundings. If you have a spotter, even better – their eyes are invaluable, especially for blind spots or when you're dealing with ramps and uneven ground. I often find myself pulling forward just a few feet to adjust my angle by inches, rather than trying to force a turn that's just not there. It's about finessing the rig, not muscling it. Another hack I've learned for these tricky situations is to understand your trailer's pivot point and how it reacts to steering inputs. Practice makes perfect, and the more you practice backing into various scenarios – even just cones in a parking lot – the more intuitive it becomes. You start to develop that spatial awareness that makes seemingly 'impossible' maneuvers feel a little less daunting. I've even heard stories that made me wonder, 'Did they build the truck right here?' because the parking job was so perfect and tight, or if someone was just 'able to back into this impossible spot' after hours. Ultimately, 'truck parkour' isn't about reckless stunts, but about honing your skills to a point where you can confidently and safely maneuver your truck into almost any reasonable spot. It’s about becoming so skilled that when someone sees your parking job, they’re left wondering, 'How did this dude get parked?' just like I am with that picture. It’s a testament to patience, practice, and a true understanding of your vehicle. Keep challenging yourself, but always prioritize safety!

how do we not talk about this national park more!?
Ok ok, I know Olympic National Park is fairly well known, but the fact that it’s not in most people’s top three national park list is an absolute CRIME! Don’t get me wrong, I love Yellowstone and The Grand Canyon, but you will never get as much biodiversity in one place as Olympic National Park.
