Just me and my garlic cubes 🧄 I give 1 bag to my mom and we have garlic for the next month :) #garlic #kitchenhack
One of the biggest annoyances when cooking is peeling and chopping garlic every single time, which can be time-consuming and somewhat messy. I found the idea of making garlic cubes incredibly helpful for anyone who uses garlic frequently in their meals. Buying garlic in bulk from stores like Costco not only saves money but also ensures you have enough fresh garlic on hand. The method involves peeling the garlic cloves and spreading them thinly inside large ziplock bags. By removing the air and flattening the garlic, you create a thin layer that freezes evenly. Using a chopstick or a similar tool to carve out small cube sections before freezing makes it easy to grab just the amount you need for cooking, reducing waste and simplifying meal prep. I find that freezing garlic this way preserves its fresh flavor much better than other preservation methods, such as drying or using pre-minced garlic from jars. Plus, it's convenient to hand a bag to family members to keep them stocked up too. Overall, this kitchen hack has not only saved me time but also helped me avoid the frustration of garlic peeling and chopping, making it an essential trick in my cooking routine.
