Vulnerability isn't easy but can be so necessary

ok, getting SUPER vulnerable here. I didn't expect to get teary-eyed looking this up with ChatGPT...but I did when reading its 1st few sentences to me and while making this reel

i can be consistent and push for my goals, but I've noticed I've allowed my past traumas and experiences stop me now more often than I'd like to admit, especially after my most recent. I'm getting better. I'll BE better cuz i know this doesn't define who I am. I accomplish my goals. I am a ppl person. I LOVE to help ppl and i get to do that from my phone. SO easy, right? then why do I stop myself?

the struggle comes from realizing I spent more energy replying to those that didn't actually support me. i poured into them, but they didn't have my back. now, when I get to actually spend my energy wisely for myself and have control in it all, I sometimes choose not to spend it at all. i won't let this control my life and paralyze me from the steps I need to take to get to my goals. if u feel this in any way, I'm here and rooting for u.

... Read moreVulnerability can be a catalyst for healing and personal growth, especially after experiencing trauma. In moments of vulnerability, we might face deep-seated emotions and challenges, such as procrastination and social anxiety. For many, trauma leads to heightened emotional sensitivity, making even small tasks feel overwhelming. Acknowledging and addressing these feelings is essential for regaining motivation. To begin healing, practicing self-compassion is crucial. This implies allowing oneself to feel without judgment and recognizing that struggles are part of the human experience. Creating a supportive environment is also vital; surrounding oneself with those who are genuinely uplifting can help improve energy levels and motivation. Moreover, understanding the triggers that lead to avoidance can help in developing coping strategies. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques can assist in reframing thoughts that contribute to procrastination. Techniques such as breaking tasks into smaller steps, utilizing checklists, and setting realistic goals can foster a sense of accomplishment. The journey may be difficult, but embracing vulnerability allows us to connect deeply with ourselves and others. As April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, it's important to acknowledge that discussions around these topics can be triggering. By sharing our stories, we not only heal ourselves but also help others feel less alone in their struggles. Remember, every step taken towards recognizing and addressing vulnerability is a step toward strength and resilience.
