God Isn't Looking For Perfect...
✨A Light 💡in the Night🌙
Hey family, good evening 💛🙏🏾
Today I heard a well-known ministry leader share something that really RESONATED 💭 with me… he talked about how being PERFORMATIVE 🎭 in the pulpit doesn’t help people, but being REAL 💯 does. And whew… that hit me deep 🙏🏾.
We don’t need PERFORMANCE 🎭, we need PRESENCE 🙌🏾. God is not asking us to show up PERFECT ✨, He’s asking for HONESTY 🗣️. When leaders hide the HARD moments 😔, it can create distance, but when there is VULNERABILITY 💔, it creates CONNECTION 🤝🏾 and points people back to God’s STRENGTH 💪🏾.
The truth is, God already KNOWS 👀 everything about us. Pretending blocks INTIMACY ❤️. REAL FAITH 🙏🏾 looks like crying out 😭, trusting Him in the MESS 🌀, and giving Him your WHOLE HEART 💖.
Let’s not just want REAL from others… let’s BE REAL with God 💯🙏🏾.
🕊️Scriptures to Meditate On🙏🏾
Psalm 51:17 – “A broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.”
Hebrews 4:16 – “Let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace…”

In my own journey of faith, I've often found myself trapped in the cycle of trying to appear flawless in front of others and even God. But the message that God isn't looking for perfect really resonated with me on a deeper level. It took a moment of vulnerability to realize that authenticity holds far more value in my relationship with God than maintaining a facade of perfection. What strikes me most is how God already knows all our flaws and struggles—so pretending only distances us from Him. When I started embracing my messy, imperfect moments honestly, I felt a newfound freedom and intimacy with God. It's like opening the door wide for His strength to fill the gaps where I lack. Being real doesn’t just help my spiritual life; it also strengthened my connection with those around me. When I share my authentic struggles and victories, it creates trust and comfort rather than judgment or distance. The scriptures cited, especially Psalm 51:17 about a broken and contrite heart, remind me that honesty in brokenness invites God’s grace, not rejection. With all this in mind, I encourage anyone feeling pressure to perform or hide difficulties to lean into that vulnerability. Show up as you are—not perfect, but present and honest. Let God’s presence guide you through the mess, and trust Him wholeheartedly. It’s a profound shift that turns faith from a performance into a life-giving relationship of trust and connection.
