My spin on the traditional Samoan dish! ✨

My mom use to make Oka all the time growing up, in my culture Oka is always a go to at family gatherings and events, the coconut cream as I got older started to become less of a favorite and then I did some tweaking to the recipe when I got to college. I just simply substituted a few parts of the recipe for items I think were similar and very well fitting to the recipe. Traditionally you would use coconut cream instead I replaced it with a coconut rice, and instead of cucumbers I used celery to give a more bolder crunch in texture vs a cucumber. I also added seaweed because I just simply enjoy the taste of seaweed with raw tuna. I hope you guys enjoy this quick easy recipe.

The recipe:

✨ Before anything let your tuna soak in lemon juice, I do a hour before preparing. ✨

1 raw tuna steak

1 seaweed sheet

1 piece of chopped green onion

1/2 cup of celery

2 cups of coconut rice

( I sometimes put a lil soy sauce or wasabi, optional)

Please don’t let the aunties come for me 😭😭😭
