Trying to pick up odd jobs quietly right now just to save enough to leave and create a safe, peaceful life for me and my girls. 🤍
This is really hard for me to post. I’ve been in a long, unhealthy marriage, and I’m doing everything I can to step into something better for my daughters. Three of them are under six, and when things started affecting my oldest, I knew I couldn’t stay.
I recently spoke to a divorce attorney and felt overwhelmed by how expensive and complicated the process is—especially trying to get protection and stability in place. I lost my job, I’m grieving my baby sister, and right now I’m cleaning homes and doing small jobs just to cover gas, groceries, and basic needs.
Between caring for my kids, searching for work, and trying to plan our next steps, I feel like I’m barely staying afloat. But I’m choosing courage anyway.
I’m not asking for pity—just support, prayers, encouragement, or even sharing this quietly if you feel led. Any kindness truly means more than you know.

From personal experience, juggling multiple odd jobs while caring for little ones is exhausting yet empowering. Each job, no matter how small, is a vital step toward reclaiming stability and safety.
Navigating the legal complexities of divorce can feel overwhelming and intimidating, particularly when protection and custody are concerns. I found that consulting a compassionate and knowledgeable divorce attorney early on helps to clarify options and reduce anxiety. Many communities also offer free or low-cost legal aid services, which can be a lifesaver when financial resources are stretched thin.
Grieving the loss of a loved one while managing life transitions adds another layer of challenge. Allowing yourself time to process grief, even in small moments, is important for emotional resilience. Reaching out for support, whether through trusted friends, support groups, or counseling, can provide much-needed comfort and guidance.
In my journey, I discovered that building a network of kindness—through prayers, encouragement, or sharing my story—fosters hope and connection. Every bit of support helps to lighten the load. For those who want to help, a GoFundMe link or other fundraising platforms offer a practical way to contribute toward creating a safer, more stable home.
Ultimately, choosing courage day by day, even when feeling overwhelmed, is a powerful act of love and determination. If you’re on a similar path, remember you’re not alone, and small steps forward will build the foundation for a brighter future for you and your children.
