Don’t look back
Why We’re Moving On:
• Energy Preservation: Stop spending "new day" energy on "old news" problems.
• Space for the New: You can’t grab a fresh opportunity if your hands are still full of yesterday’s baggage.
• Better Perspective: Growth happens in the unknown, not the recycled.
The past is a great teacher, but it’s a terrible place to set up camp. Lean into the next chapter—it’s been waiting for you to show up.

I once had an experience that really reinforced the idea of not looking back. I found a lizard that had been living under my couch. Over time, I noticed it would often stare longingly out the sliding glass door, as if wanting to escape into the world beyond. One day, I finally caught the lizard and set it free outside. You’d expect it to run away into freedom, but interestingly, it came right back to the window and stared back inside, seemingly wanting to return to its old, unsafe home. This made me reflect on how often we do the same thing in life. We get opportunities to move forward, to embrace the new and unknown—but instead, we sometimes long for or cling to habits, environments, or relationships that aren’t good for us. Much like the lizard’s repeated longing for a place that could harm it, we can find ourselves stuck, looking back instead of fostering the courage to move on. Letting go doesn’t mean forgetting the lessons from the past; it means choosing not to live in it. Preserving your energy by not reliving old problems frees you to take on new challenges with a fresh perspective. Having an open attitude towards change unlocks personal growth that simply isn’t possible when we’re fixated on the past. From personal experience, cultivating a habit of focusing on forward momentum has brought so much clarity and peace. When faced with setbacks, I remind myself that growth happens in the unknown, not by recycling old thoughts or regrets. This mindset has allowed me to seize new opportunities with enthusiasm rather than hesitation. So, like the parable of the lizard, don’t settle for an environment or mindset that limits you. Be brave and reckless in the best way—choose freedom, embrace new beginnings, and keep your eyes ahead. Your next chapter awaits, and it’s full of possibilities waiting to be discovered.
