Give Yourself Permission ✨
(Not my image)
This post from witchytips on IG hits the nail on the head! On this side of the internet we don’t shame ourselves (or each other) for being new to something! We celebrate the never ending journey of learning. Thats why we call it ✨practice✨
I’ve been practicing tarot for years and I still look things up all the time! Every expert started right where you are! Give yourself permission to be new to something, to not be the best at something right away- this is where the magic happens. When we’re open and we stay teachable, there is no limit to what we can learn. And speaking from experience- it’s the moment we act like we’ve got it all figured out that the universe shows us otherwise 😂😂
I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes from the show Adventure Time that always makes me smile when I’m being critical of myself:
“ Sucking at something is the first step towards being sorta good at something”
😂 so go forth and suck at something!!
Blessed be✨

In the realms of personal growth and spirituality, it’s crucial to acknowledge that everyone starts somewhere. The idea of ‘giving yourself permission’ reflects a significant mindset shift where individuals allow themselves to be learners rather than experts from the get-go. This is especially relevant in practices such as tarot reading, astrology, and witchcraft, where newcomers often feel pressured to know everything. It’s perfectly acceptable to practice tarot while referencing meanings, explore astrology without mastering every celestial detail, or even identify as a witch without familial lineage. The essence of learning lies in the journey itself, where each step fosters growth and understanding. Engaging in conversations within communities like #witchyvibes or #spirituality are fantastic ways to connect with others who share similar paths. Communities often provide support, share tips, and celebrate each other’s progress regardless of experience. Furthermore, embracing errors as part of the learning process is essential. The quote from Adventure Time, “Sucking at something is the first step towards being sorta good at something,” encapsulates the spirit of perseverance. It’s a reminder that every expert was once a beginner who dared to try, learn, and improve. So whether you’re curious about crystal collecting, tarot, or any other practice, remember that every exploration is valuable, and allowing yourself to be a novice is where the real magic of learning happens. Blessed be on your journey!
