Let’s make strawberry pancakes ! 🥞🍓
In my journey of improving my cooking and making things from scratch, I’ve made some strawberry pancakes. growing up n watching my granny cook, whenever she made pancakes she would always add a bit of bacon grease to the batter, and i’ve done that myself instead of adding 2 tbsp of vegetable oil. it adds a nice bacon flavor to the pancakes 🤭. Feel free to add vegetable oil to yours if that’s what you prefer!
Here’s the recipe!
INGREDIENTS
¾ cup all-purpose flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
Pinch of ground cinnamon
½ tsp salt
1 large egg
½ cup whole milk
½ tsp vanilla
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp butter or oil for skillet
INSTRUCTIONS
Whisk together all ingredients in a small or medium-sized bowl until all ingredients are incorporated (batter may have a few small lumps).
Heat 1 tbsp butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. Measure out a scant 1/4 cup of batter and pour into skillet. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until bubbles appear and the batter begins to firm up around the edges. Flip pancake and cook for 3 to 4 more minutes, or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining batter.
Serve pancakes with your favorite toppings and syrup!

Strawberry pancakes are a delightful twist to your breakfast routine. To make the best strawberry pancakes, start with fresh, ripe strawberries for natural sweetness and vibrant flavor. You can customize your pancake batter by adding ingredients like almond flour for a nutty touch or even chocolate chips for a fun addition. When cooking, ensure your skillet is at the right temperature; if it's too hot, your pancakes may burn, while too cool will result in undercooked pancakes. Patience is key, wait for bubbles to form before flipping your pancakes; this ensures they cook evenly. Top your strawberry pancakes with whipped cream, fresh strawberries, or a drizzle of maple syrup for an extra decadent finish. Enjoy experimenting with different toppings and flavors!
