Growing up bisexual often means confronting misunderstandings and misinformation. For me, coming out at 12 was just the beginning of a lifelong journey of self-exploration and acceptance. Bisexuality isn't about flipping a switch or making a choice—it’s an intrinsic part of identity that embraces attraction to multiple genders. Many people confuse bisexuality with pansexuality or view it through narrow stereotypes. In reality, both share a spectrum of attraction that goes beyond rigid labels, falling under the larger umbrella of plurisexual identities. What sets bisexuality apart is fluidity and the freedom it offers in recognizing attraction to same and different genders without exclusion. It's common to hear people question the existence of bisexuality, but experiences and stories like these prove otherwise. Being bisexual means appreciating the uniqueness of individuals regardless of gender—whether it's the prince or the princess in stories, or the beautiful complexity of real-life relationships. It means loving deeply while acknowledging that attraction can evolve. In my own life, the symbols of my identity—the braids, eyeliner, and even my wardrobe—are expressions of self that have stayed true while my relationships and feelings shifted naturally. Bisexuality isn’t about confusion; it’s about embracing all beautiful possibilities.
