Being wild, September 11th, 2001, the 9/11 memorial/museum

Being and becoming wild have made people look askance at the September 11th, 2001, exhibition at the 9/11 memorial/museum. The immigrant narrative in the exhibition has made Israel Palestine conflicts even more controversial. The photography and videos show immigrants as the primary targets of governmental policies. Thus incentivized people to make works and claims about the Israel Palestine conflicts through graphic images and imageries. It oftentimes challenges people’s views about the immigrants as a potential labour force in today’s economy. Etc.

Read moreVisiting the 9/11 Memorial and Museum offers a profound opportunity to reflect not only on the tragic events of that day but also on the complex human stories that surround them, particularly those of immigrants. From my personal experience, what stood out most was how the exhibition challenges the conventional narratives by highlighting immigrant communities as both victims and crucial contributors to the post-9/11 social fabric. The inclusion of photographic and video presentations depicting immigrants as primary targets of government policies adds layers of emotional depth and political discourse. This perspective opens up critical dialogue about national security versus civil liberties, and how such tensions have influenced immigrant experiences across the world, especially in the U.S. What I found particularly engaging was how the exhibition indirectly touches on the Israel-Palestine conflict, linking it to immigrant struggles worldwide. The graphic imagery and artistic expressions inspired by these conflicts serve as powerful tools to question and challenge visitors’ preconceived notions about immigrants as a labor force, a public threat, or victims of discrimination. For anyone seeking a deeper understanding of global immigration issues, the exhibit serves as a poignant reminder of the interconnectedness of international conflicts and their local impacts. It also invites visitors to consider the role of art and media in shaping our perceptions of these complex topics. Visiting the memorial is more than a history lesson; it’s an emotional journey that reveals how wild and intricate human experiences can be, especially when filtered through themes of immigration, policy, and conflict. I would encourage others to engage with the exhibition not just as spectators but as participants in an ongoing conversation about diversity, resilience, and justice.
