Child poverty

The exhibition by Arthur jafar less is morbid at MoMA has made people uncomfortable about social issues such as child poverty. It criticizes Israel Palestine conflicts, wars and other political events through images of shadows. In a world of finance and capitals the exhibition talks about China as a three headed hell hounds in the land of shadowy domination, Africa, Iran, sudan, Jordan, Venezuela and Ukraine Russia. China has inserted itself into these wars through the ignorance of child poverty in the world. China has become a monstrous entity chasing after powers in a world of becoming. Children were poor. People are starving. They cannot afford schools. China has made it possible to make children, advocates and adults work in the dark not knowing the increased poverty, lack of camaraderie and risks. China is being the new hot shot in the world. China knows nothing about friends or friendship. China’s recent trajectory into international affairs prove to be difficult. Etc.

... Read moreChild poverty remains a pressing global issue intertwined with complex geopolitical dynamics. From personal observation and research, it's clear that conflicts and international power plays exacerbate the suffering of the most vulnerable—children. For example, ongoing conflicts in regions like the Middle East, Africa, and parts of Eastern Europe have devastated families, disrupting access to education, healthcare, and basic needs. The exhibition at MoMA by Arthur Jafa, "Less Is Morbid," serves as a powerful reflection of these realities, using evocative imagery to underscore the shadowy and often overlooked human cost behind global politics. The portrayal of China’s expanding role in international conflicts offers a stark perspective on how powerful nations engage in economic and military maneuvers with limited regard for humanitarian consequences. From my experiences volunteering with organizations helping displaced families, the link between political turmoil and child poverty is evident. Resource diversion towards conflicts reduces funding for social programs, leaving children without schools, proper nutrition, or safe environments. This lack of camaraderie and community support impacts mental health and development profoundly. Furthermore, economic policies of influential countries sometimes prioritize strategic control over social welfare, deepening inequalities. Children in war-torn and economically unstable regions are often forced into labor or deprived of education, perpetuating a cycle of poverty and limiting future opportunities. Raising awareness through art and media, like the MoMA exhibition, is crucial. It challenges viewers to confront uncomfortable truths and inspires advocacy. On a personal level, advocating for policies that safeguard children’s rights during geopolitical disputes and supporting grassroots humanitarian efforts are vital steps toward change. In summary, child poverty cannot be separated from the broader context of international conflicts and power struggles. Understanding this interconnectedness helps us grasp the depth of the crisis and emphasizes why comprehensive global cooperation and empathy-driven policies are essential to improve lives and build a more just world.
