The exhibition mao ishikawa at Alison Bradley project in New York reveals an obsession with names. The exhibition criticizes Israel Palestine wars, conflicts and other political events through photography. The spatial display of the photographs construed a story of time in the contemporary Japan and the world. The works especially prized elegance over styles. It reminds me of various stories from China about its growing economy. Since the pandemic the news about ev, cars and factories have portrayed a China uses its population and economic foundation to attract foreign investment. It’s clearly to no avail as the real estate market bubbles get popped and deflated. Nothing lasts forever. The exhibition seems to say. Like growth, love and reputation. Etc.
