Makes: 4 bars (depending on the mold you use)
Step 1:
Gather the Ingredients
16 oz (454 g) goat’s milk soap base cut into 1” cubes
1 tsp (4 g) orange essential oil
1/8 (.25g) cinnamon essential oil
7 drops clove essential oil
1 Tbs organic rolled oats
1 tsp tomato powder (optional natural colorant)
Step 2:
Chop the goat’s milk soap base into small 1” cubes. In a heatproof glass bowl, add the soap base and set on top of a saucepan with a few inches of water inside the pan. Turn the heat to medium low.
Step 3:
Once the cubes begin to melt, add the tomato powder, if using. Gently stir powder into soap. Loosely cover the bowl with a plate or heatproof lid. Turn the heat to low and infuse the tomato powder for 30 minutes to give the soap a light orange color. Stir occasionally.
While the soap is melting, add the oatmeal to a spice or coffee grinder and blend into a fine powder.
Step 4:
Once the soap has melted and the tomato powder has adequately infused, remove the bowl from heat. Stir in the oatmeal mixture and orange, cinnamon and clove essential oils.
Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes or until the temperature is around 130 degrees. This will help prevent the oatmeal mixture from falling to the bottom of the soap.
Step 5:
Pour the soap into your favorite silicone mold. Let settle and cool in a dry place for 1-2 hours or until solidified.
Unmold and enjoy! Store away extra bars in a cool, dry place. Or wrap tightly and give away as a gift!
