Open your heart with autism

On my love journey called life, I’ve learned something powerful… ❤️

When we’re let down by the people we trusted the most, it’s natural to build walls around our hearts.

We tell ourselves we’re protecting our peace, protecting our energy, protecting our hearts from ever experiencing that pain again.

For me, that looked like becoming hyper-independent.

I told myself I was trusting God, but deep down, part of me was using independence as a wall—a way to make sure I would never be hurt again.

Life has taught me that healing isn’t about closing our hearts.

It’s about learning the lesson, gaining wisdom, and still remaining open to love.

When we truly trust God, our hearts remain open.

We don’t lead from fear.

We lead from love.

We don’t ignore red flags.

We strengthen our discernment.

We don’t become naive.

We deepen our intuition.

An open heart doesn’t mean everyone gets access.

It means we trust God enough to know that what is meant for us will not miss us, and what is not meant for us will reveal itself.

As a mother on the autism journey, I know many can relate to feeling alone.

I know what it’s like when the people you thought would be there for you walk away.

I know what it’s like to grieve the loss of support, friendships, expectations, and the life you thought would look different.

But I also want you to know this:

On the other side of grief is love.

On the other side of heartbreak is healing.

On the other side of feeling alone is the community God has prepared for you.

A community rooted in genuine connection, pure love, understanding, acceptance, and joy.

Today, I keep my heart open to experience life through love.

Not because life has been easy.

Not because people have always stayed.

But because God has shown me that keeping my heart open allows me to receive the blessings, relationships, opportunities, and support He has been guiding toward me all along.

Bring your lessons with you.

Bring your discernment with you.

Bring your wisdom with you.

But don’t let pain convince you to close your heart.

Trust that God is leading you from within.

Trust the quiet voice of your intuition.

Trust the wisdom you’ve gained through every challenge.

And trust that love still exists—not only around you, but within you.

✨ Your heart was never meant to become a fortress.

✨ It was meant to become a light.

... Read moreLiving with autism or supporting someone who does often brings unique emotional challenges that can feel isolating. From my personal experience, embracing an open heart amid these trials has been transformative. It’s natural to build emotional walls after experiencing disappointment or loss, especially when loved ones step away during difficult moments. But I’ve learned that closing off too tightly breeds loneliness, while opening up fosters healing and unexpected blessings. Trusting in a higher plan and listening to inner intuition are vital. When I remind myself to lead with love, not fear, I become more discerning without losing my openness. This balance means recognizing red flags while still welcoming genuine connections. It's important to remember that keeping your heart open doesn't mean indiscriminately trusting everyone—it means trusting God and your experience to guide you toward relationships that uplift and support you. The journey of autism parenting can bring grief over lost expectations and friendships, but it also opens the door to a beautiful community rooted in acceptance and understanding. I’ve found strength in sharing my story and connecting with others who walk this path. Through this, the pain of feeling alone is softened by the joy of belonging. Moreover, nurturing your own wisdom, learning from each challenge, and cultivating self-love are essential steps toward thriving—not just surviving. Healing is not linear but a continuous process of growth. By choosing faith over fear, we allow ourselves to heal, love, and receive the abundant support waiting for us. Remember, your heart is meant to be a light in the world, shining brightly with hope and compassion despite hardships. Embracing this truth transforms our journey, making it one of purpose, connection, and enduring love.
