LOADED STEAK SANDWICH
Ingredients:
For the Steak:
1 lb (450 g) steak (ribeye, sirloin, or flank), thinly sliced
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp smoked paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Sandwich:
4 hoagie rolls or sandwich buns
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack or mozzarella cheese
1 large tomato, sliced
1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
1/2 cup sautéed onions and peppers (optional)
1/4 cup pickled jalapeños (optional, for heat)
For the Toppings:
Salsa or chimichurri sauce (optional)
Mayonnaise or garlic aioli (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Steak:
In a bowl, toss the steak slices with olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook the steak for 2–3 minutes per side, until cooked to your liking. Remove from heat and let it rest.
Toast the Rolls:
Slice the hoagie rolls and lightly toast them on a grill or skillet until golden brown.
Assemble the Sandwich:
Spread mayonnaise or garlic aioli on the inside of each toasted roll (optional).
Add a layer of cooked steak, then top with shredded cheese. Melt the cheese by placing the sandwich under a broiler for a few seconds or using a hot skillet with a lid.
Layer with sliced tomato, chopped cilantro, and sautéed onions and peppers. Add pickled jalapeños for extra heat.
Finish with Sauce:
Drizzle with salsa or chimichurri for a burst of flavor (optional).
