no one is born at war with themselves.
real healing that’s with unlearning. #healing
In my experience, the journey of healing truly begins when we start unlearning deeply ingrained negative thoughts and societal expectations. Often, we find ourselves trapped by conflicting emotions and self-doubt, such as questioning "does this outfit make me look fat?" or feeling anxious about others' opinions like "I hope they don't think I'm too much." These common inner dialogues illustrate how we can be at war within ourselves without realizing it. To move towards genuine healing, it's essential to acknowledge these thoughts without judgment and gradually let go of the harsh self-criticism that controls our mindset. For example, instead of thinking "I shouldn't have eaten that," shifting to a more compassionate view that honors our body's needs can restore balance. Similarly, embracing excitement and joy—"I'm so excited I can't sit still"—without feeling the need to suppress it, helps us reconnect with our authentic selves. Unlearning also involves challenging the societal pressures of always being "productive" or "realistic." Allowing ourselves rest and play acknowledges our humanity and supports emotional well-being. Over time, this process of unlearning can transform the inner conflict into inner harmony, revealing that indeed, no one is born at war with themselves; it is the beliefs and fears we adopt that create this struggle. By sharing these reflections and embracing hashtags like #healing, we create communities that support vulnerability and growth, reminding each other that healing is possible when we commit to unlearning and self-acceptance.
