... Read moreTraining your brain to accept and enjoy healthy foods can be challenging, especially when cravings for less healthy options arise frequently. From my experience, the key is gradual and consistent exposure combined with mindful eating practices. Start by introducing small portions of healthy foods you are less accustomed to, mixing them with flavors you already enjoy. This helps your taste buds adapt and decreases resistance to new tastes. Also, stay mindful about your eating habits — slow down and savor each bite to allow your brain to register satisfaction. I found that replacing empty snacking with nutrient-dense foods that have a satisfying texture can reduce cravings left, right, and center. For example, crunchy vegetables or nuts can help curb the urge to overeat since they require more chewing and provide sensory satisfaction. Portion control becomes easier when you listen to your body’s hunger and fullness signals rather than eating out of habit or boredom. Keeping healthy snacks pre-portioned in advance also eliminates the impulse to overeat during moments of craving. Overcoming the mental hurdle of accepting new tastes sometimes requires shifting your mindset from deprivation to nourishment. Reminding yourself of the benefits – like better energy, digestion, and overall health – can motivate your brain to develop a positive association with healthy foods. Lastly, be patient and persistent. Taste preferences often evolve over time with repeated exposure, so don't be discouraged if it feels difficult at first. Celebrate small wins, and gradually your brain will learn to accept and even crave healthier options.

Testing out Twinkle Twinkle
Got to try out this new game at Pax Unplugged last weekend and I can’t stop thinking about it! Super accessible but still filled with lots of strategy. And a great little puzzle too! This one is coming next year from Allplay! #boardgames #gamenight #twinkletwinkle
