Not only does it offer a naturally sweet and earthy flavor, but it's packed with nutrients that boost energy and promote overall well-being. Beets are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, including folate, potassium, and vitamin C. Cold-pressing helps retain most of these nutrients, making the juice much healthier than traditional juice varieties. This process minimizes heat and oxidation, preserving enzymes and nutrients that are otherwise destroyed in pasteurization. Drinking cold-pressed beet juice regularly has helped me improve my cardiovascular health by supporting better blood flow and lowering blood pressure, thanks to the nitrate content in beets. Additionally, it’s excellent for athletes or anyone looking to enhance endurance and recovery. If you’re in Atlanta and vegan, you’ll find a growing number of local juice bars offering freshly made cold-pressed beet juice. Pair it with other plant-based favorites like carrot or ginger for a delicious and nutritious boost. For those new to beet juice, start with small amounts since it has a potent taste and can cause a natural red tint to urine or stool, which is harmless but surprising if you’re not expecting it. Incorporating this superfood into your daily regimen has been an enjoyable and healthful journey for me, and I highly recommend beet lovers give it a try!
