Beyond just making me feel good, I've learned so much about why it works wonders for menstrual wellness. You might be wondering what goes into making this vibrant, beneficial juice. My go-to recipe isn't just about beets! I always include a mix of other amazing ingredients that boost its effectiveness. For instance, carrots are fantastic for their beta-carotene, which can support overall health and add a lovely sweetness. Adding a bit of lemon or even a tangy grapefruit not only brightens the flavor but also provides a good dose of Vitamin C, an antioxidant that helps reduce inflammation – a key factor in period discomfort. And I can't forget ginger! This powerful root is a superstar for its anti-inflammatory properties and can be incredibly soothing for an upset stomach, which many of us experience during our periods. Sometimes I even add an apple for a touch of sweetness and extra nutrients. This combination ensures you're getting a powerful blend of vitamins and minerals to support your body through its cycle. Making the juice is super simple. From the flat lay of ingredients I often prepare, you can see how colorful and fresh everything is. First, I always make sure to wash all my produce thoroughly. For the beets, I usually wash them well, cut off the ends, and then cube them into manageable pieces for my juicer. The same goes for the carrots – a quick wash and chop. For the citrus like lemon and grapefruit, I peel them to avoid any bitterness from the rind, and for the ginger, a quick peel and slice works perfectly.
