Read moreThese high protein chocolate muffins are a perfect combination of taste and nutrition, especially if you're aiming to maintain a muscle-building diet or simply want a healthier dessert option. Each muffin offers around 12 grams of protein while keeping carbs low at just 5 grams per serving, making them ideal for those following keto, low-carb, or clean eating plans. The use of unsweetened applesauce adds natural sweetness without refined sugars, supporting a clean ingredient list. I personally love how PBfit powdered peanut butter contributes both flavor and protein without the extra oil or calories of regular nut butter. Using almond flour keeps the muffins gluten-free and adds healthy fats. One tip I've found helpful is to thoroughly whisk the wet ingredients before combining with the dry. This helps achieve a smooth batter and even baking. Adding dark chocolate chips gives a pleasant boost of antioxidants and satisfies the chocolate craving without overwhelming the macros. For an even sweeter touch that won’t impact blood sugar, monk fruit sweetener is a great optional add-in. Baking these muffins takes under 30 minutes, making them great for busy mornings or meal prep on the weekend. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for a couple of days or refrigerate to keep fresh longer. These muffins freeze well too — just warm them up in the microwave for a quick protein-packed snack. Overall, these muffins make a delicious and convenient way to fuel your day, whether as a pre/post workout snack or a guilt-free treat that aligns with your health goals.
