18 Month Old Toddler Wind Down Routine🫶🏾💤

2025/2/16 Edited to

... Read moreCreating a calming nighttime routine for your toddler is essential for fostering good sleep habits. Start by ensuring dinner is served at a consistent time, followed by engaging play activities that help them unwind. Incorporate a tidy-up session to teach responsibility while transitioning to bedtime. Next, a warm bath can be both relaxing and enjoyable, helping to signal the end of the day. Afterward, settle down for story time, allowing their minds to drift into a dreamland filled with adventures. This structured approach not only reduces bedtime resistance but also strengthens parent-child bonding, making the nighttime experience more enjoyable for everyone involved. Additionally, consistency is key in these routines. Repeating the same sequence of events each night will create a sense of security and predictability for your toddler. It's also beneficial to keep the environment conducive to sleep, by dimming lights and minimizing noise during the wind down period.

A text graphic titled "Daytime Sleep (Naps)" explains that 5-month-olds typically nap 3-5 hours daily, taking 2-3 naps (sometimes 4), with each nap lasting 30 minutes to 2 hours.
How long does a 5 month old sleep for??
My baby just turned 5 months a week ago. He goes to bed between 8pm and 9pm and is usually up between 8am and 9am. Sometimes earlier, sometimes later. His wake windows are usually 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours. Naps are around 30 minutes to 1 hour and he takes one long nap of the day (usually around 4pm)
