So excited about our lesson this Sunday

That Sunday lesson exploring 'Jesus as the Light of the World' truly resonated with my Daughters of the King! It got me thinking even more about how we, especially as young people, can embody that light in our everyday lives. It’s not just about understanding that Jesus is the light, but about letting His light shine through us. We talked about Matthew 5:14, where Jesus tells us, 'You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.' This isn't just a nice saying; it's a call to action! For a preteen or teen, being the light can mean so many things. It could be being kind to someone who’s feeling left out at school, speaking up for what’s right when others are doing wrong, or simply sharing a smile with someone who looks like they’re having a tough day. It’s about radiating God’s love and hope in a world that sometimes feels dark. Think about how those little fairy lights we use for decorations, or the ones we put inside our light bulb ornaments, transform a space. Individually, they're small, maybe even dim. But together, they create a beautiful, warm glow. That's a lot like us! Each of us, when we choose to 'be the light,' adds to a collective brilliance that can truly make a difference in our communities and among our friends. Our craft, with the 'be the light' decal, was such a perfect reminder of this. Every time I see those ornaments on a tree, I remember that powerful message. It’s a beautiful thing how something as simple as these fillable clear light bulb ornaments can hold such profound spiritual meaning. Beyond Christmas, how can we keep this light shining? It could be through your actions online, ensuring your posts and comments reflect positivity and kindness. This promise is so comforting and empowering. It reminds us that even when things seem confusing or difficult, following Jesus means we're never truly lost in the dark. He guides us, and in turn, empowers us to guide others. It really emphasizes that the physical light of Christmas decorations, though beautiful, is merely a symbol of something much greater and more enduring—the spiritual light that comes from Him. So, while we loved making our fillable clear light bulb ornaments and decorating with those warm fairy lights, the real takeaway for me was the deeper spiritual meaning. It’s about carrying that light within, letting it transform us, and then allowing it to shine brightly for everyone around us.
