Has Anyone Noticed Always Pads Changed?

Has anyone else noticed that Always pads just… aren’t what they used to be? I swear something’s different lately. The adhesive feels like it’s glued on with industrial strength — like I’m literally at war with the pad every time I try to remove it. I’ve had pads tear apart, and even damage my underwear, which I’ve never experienced before.

And then there’s the material — am I imagining it or are they suddenly using more cotton‑like fibers? It feels softer but also somehow less reliable. I’ve noticed way more leaks compared to a year or two ago, and it’s making me rethink whether I can trust them on heavier days. Not sure if this is a regional thing or a global change, but it’s definitely noticeable.

Has anyone else experienced this with Always pads — adhesive problems, changes in material, or leak issues? What alternatives are you loving right now?

... Read moreIt’s truly validating to hear others are noticing these "product changes" with Always pads! My own journey with menstrual products has always been about finding reliable comfort, and lately, Always just isn't cutting it like it used to. I feel like I'm constantly on edge, especially when I'm out and about. Let's talk about the adhesive first, because that's been a major headache for me. While some might think a super-strong adhesive is a good thing for security, my experience has been the opposite. It’s not just that it sticks; it binds with such ferocity that removing it feels like a wrestling match. I've had pads literally shred, leaving behind stubborn, sticky residue that’s almost impossible to get off. Worse, it’s damaged several pairs of my favorite underwear! I've noticed this particularly on thinner, more delicate fabrics or even some synthetic blends. For cotton underwear, it might hold better, but the residue issue often remains. I've tried peeling slowly, from different angles, but it seems like a fundamental change in the adhesive itself. I used to trust Always to stay put without damaging my clothes, but now I’m constantly worried about ruining another pair of undies. Then there’s the crucial issue of leak protection, especially for those of us with active lives. I’m not a school student anymore, but I remember those days of rushing between classes, going to sports practice, or staying late for after-school clubs. You need period protection that you don't have to think about. That's exactly what I'm missing now. The newer material feels softer, almost too soft, which makes me question its absorbency. I've definitely experienced more leaks than ever before, even on moderate days, which is just unacceptable. It feels like the pad just doesn't wick away moisture and lock it in as effectively as it once did. I find myself constantly checking, which is a major distraction and adds unnecessary stress to my day. For anyone with a packed schedule – whether you're a student, working, or just busy – this lack of reliability is a deal-breaker. These "product changes" have honestly made me re-evaluate my go-to brand. I’ve started comparing Always pads to other brands I see on the market, particularly those that emphasize strong but gentle adhesion and advanced leak-lock technology. I'm looking for alternatives that offer a more balanced adhesive – one that holds securely without bonding permanently or tearing fabrics. I'm also really focusing on brands known for their superior absorbency and quick-dry top layers, which are essential for feeling fresh and protected throughout a long day. Some brands are focusing on thinner designs with better core absorbency, which sounds promising. I’ve also been exploring options designed specifically for heavier flows or active wear, hoping to find that reliable protection Always used to offer. It’s an ongoing search, but I’m hoping to find a brand that prioritizes both comfort and uncompromising security, without the adhesive drama or leak scares. What are your go-to brands now that you trust for ultimate protection and comfort?
