Hojarascas aka Cinnamon shortbread cookies

These cookies remind me of my childhood. Still trying to find the perfect recipe but these came pretty close. Easy to make too.

Recipe:

1 cup vegetable shortening or lard

I cup powdered sugar

2 cups flour

1-2 tsp of vanilla

Cinnamon (about 2 tablespoons)

Cinnamon sugar recipe:

1 cup granulated sugar

Cinnamon (2 tablespoons)

Instructions:

combine shortening and powdered sugar together

Add vanilla. Mix. Add 1 cup of flour and mix then add the other cup of flour. Combine and form the dough ball.

Using your rolling pin roll dough out to about a 1/4 inch thick. Use your favorite cookie cutter

Put parchment paper in your baking tray and bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes

While cookies are warm put them in the cinnamon sugar mix. Enjoy.
