for me my dog ever since she was four months old was an angel in the car. we let her on the seats so she can see out the windows and that helps with anxiety. but take them to dog parks and fun places for them in short trips so that they know that the car is not to be feared. that was my dog's issue she was scared to get in the car but know she jumps in like a pro. associate the car with fun for them and they will love it
