2. Only wear Reef-Safe Sunscreen

- Use reef-safe sunscreen to protect the island’s delicate marine ecosystems. Traditional sunscreens can harm coral reefs, so make sure to check the label before purchasing.

3. You need to pack for a variety of climates

- The Big Island has 11 of the world’s 13 climate zones, from tropical rainforests to volcanic deserts. Pack for a variety of weather conditions. If you plan to go up to Mauna Kea, bring warmer clothes too as the temperature significantly drops the higher you get!
