✨March Book Recap ✨

I read and listened to so many good books this month! 😍😮‍💨 Per usual, I stuck with the romance category but I am loving why choose romantasy right now. I mean, you can never go wrong with a why choose book anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️😂🫶🏻

What’s on your TBR for April? 👀

... Read moreIn March, I dove deep into the world of romance, particularly exploring the charming subgenre of romantasy—where romance meets fantasy. One of the highlights was reading Sandra Owens' captivating works such as 'Jack of Hearts,' 'King of Clubs,' and 'Ace of Spades.' These titles brilliantly blend romantic tension with mystical or fantastical elements, which adds an exciting twist beyond the usual romance storyline. Listening to audiobooks during my commutes also made it easier to get through multiple books, including L.J. Shen's intense 'Ruthless Rival' and JT Geissinger's gripping 'Fallen Foe.' These books are great examples of how modern romance novels carry complex characters and emotional depth, making them hard to put down. What I really appreciate about the 'why choose' romantasy books is their unique approach: they often feature characters torn between two worlds or choices, which mirrors real-life dilemmas but with an added magical or supernatural backdrop. This narrative style keeps me hooked every time. With April approaching, I’m planning to continue exploring these genres and also branch out into some contemporary romance. If you're curating your own TBR, I recommend mixing audiobooks and ebooks for variety and convenience. Also, don’t shy away from subgenres like romantasy—they offer fresh perspectives on love and relationships. Sharing these experiences has made me realize how diverse romance novels can be. From dark rivals and witches to fae and shapeshifters, each story brings something new to the table. So, if you love romance but want something a bit different, give romantasy a try—it might just become your new favorite.
