Serving God But Not Seeking Him?

✨A Light 💡in the Night🌙

Heyyy sweet ones!! 💕 I hope you're resting well tonight and reflecting on what REALLY MATTERS🌙.

A few days back, I heard a powerful message 🎧 that made me pause⏸️. The speaker said sometimes we put more EFFORT into our WORK📂 for God than our WALK🚶🏾‍♀️ with God. That truth sank DEEP💢. In that moment, the Holy Spirit whispered, “There are many serving ME who aren’t actually seeking ME.” 💔

WOW. How many of us are running ministries💼, planning events📑, posting devotionals📲, yet haven’t TRULY spent time sitting at Jesus’ FEET🪑?

Serving is GOOD💪🏾. But SEEKING is GREATER🙌🏾. God isn’t impressed by our spiritual resumes📊—He’s moved by our heart’s POSITION💓.

We must remember: MINISTRY is the FRUIT🍇, but INTIMACY is the ROOT🌱. And if the root is weak, the fruit won’t last.

So tonight, take inventory📋. Have you made space for God today? Or was He squeezed between appointments⏰ and responsibilities? Let’s not give Him our LEFTOVERS🍽️ when He deserves our FIRSTFRUITS🥇.

💬 Scriptures to Meditate On🙏🏾:

🕊️Luke 10:41–42 🪑 – Jesus tells Martha, “Mary has chosen what is better…”

🕊️James 4:8 💧 – “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

... Read moreIn today’s fast-paced world, many believers find themselves overwhelmed with church activities like fundraisers, bake sales, and community events—often putting these responsibilities ahead of their personal spiritual growth. The common phrase, "Too busy right now, I'll pray later," resonates with many who unintentionally squeeze God between their commitments instead of cherishing intentional time with Him. The essence of true Christian living lies not solely in serving or busy work for God but in cultivating a heartfelt relationship with Him. This relationship, or intimacy with God, forms the root of spiritual life, grounding us deeply amidst life's pressures. Scriptural wisdom reminds us through Luke 10:41–42 that Mary "has chosen what is better"—she prioritized sitting at Jesus' feet over anxious serving. Similarly, James 4:8 calls us to "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you," highlighting the reciprocal blessing of seeking God earnestly. A vibrant spiritual walk requires more than a checklist of duties; it demands time carved out for reflection, prayer, and listening to the Holy Spirit's guidance. Ministries, while important as the fruit of faith, cannot thrive sustainably without this deeply rooted intimacy. Practical ways to enhance your walk with God include setting aside daily quiet times, simplifying schedules to create space for prayer, and evaluating your motives behind service. Are you serving out of obligation or desire? Transforming from duty to desire aligns your heart's position with God's will. By making God the center—offering Him your firstfruits rather than leftovers—you invite profound transformation in your spiritual journey. This shift rejuvenates faith, bringing authenticity to your actions and drawing you closer to the heart of God.
