Check Your Fire!

Being on fire for Jesus is truly inspiring, yet it’s important to regularly assess the nature of that fire. From personal experience, I’ve learned that passion can be a double-edged sword; while it motivates us to share the truth, if unchecked, it can lead to being overly forceful or judgmental. This often results in distancing rather than drawing others closer to Christ. One practice that has helped me is pausing to check my heart before engaging in spiritual conversations. Are my words fueled by love and grace, or do they carry the weight of my own convictions disguised as zeal? Embracing humility and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide interactions often creates space for healing and genuine connection. I’ve also found meditation on scriptures like Galatians 6:1, which encourages restoring others gently, and Colossians 4:6, which reminds us to let our conversation be always full of grace, to be profoundly helpful. These verses serve as anchors during moments of self-reflection, ensuring my approach uplifts rather than alienates. Remember, Jesus invited rather than forced His truth upon others. Following His example means prioritizing compassion over correction and love over lecturing. It’s a daily journey of balancing our fervor for truth with an open-hearted spirit. This balance fosters an environment where people feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged to walk their own path of faith at their own pace.
