Stop Trying To Write Your Own Story!
✨A Light 💡in the Night🌙
Hey family 💛🙏🏾
Tonight I was sitting with the Lord and He pressed on my heart the NECESSITY of SURRENDER 🙌🏾. We say we TRUST God, but if we’re honest, we still try to CONTROL 🧠➡️ everything. We want HIS WILL… but on OUR TERMS 😩📋.
The truth is, you can’t WALK in OBEDIENCE 🚶🏾♀️ and HOLD onto CONTROL at the same time ✋🏾. One has to go. Jesus showed us this in the garden when He said, “not MY WILL, but YOURS be done” 🙏🏾🌿. That’s real surrender.
SURRENDER doesn’t mean doing nothing 🚫. It means SEEKING God FIRST 🔍, ASKING for WISDOM 🧠✨, and then being STILL 🧘🏾♀️ long enough to HEAR Him 👂🏾. Too many of us are PRAYING… but not LISTENING 😔.
If we keep WRITING our own story 📖✍🏾, we will MISS what God is trying to do 🙌🏾. His plan is always BETTER 💯, even when it’s UNCOMFORTABLE 😩🔥.
Let it go tonight. TRUST Him fully 🤲🏾✨.
🕊️Scriptures to Meditate On🙏🏾
Luke 22:42
“Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.”
Proverbs 3:5–6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and He will make your paths straight.”

From personal experience, I've found that surrendering control is one of the hardest yet most freeing steps in a faith journey. We often struggle with fear and inconsistency when trying to discipline ourselves to trust completely. Like the message highlights, writing our own story instead of listening for God's guidance leads to frustration and missed opportunities. I've learned that true surrender involves actively seeking wisdom and staying still enough to hear divine direction. This means setting aside our fears and doubts, and being open even when the path feels uncomfortable or unclear. Incorporating regular meditation on verses like Luke 22:42 and Proverbs 3:5-6 has helped me align my heart with God's will and let go of the urge to control outcomes. Moreover, focusing on faith and consistency in prayer—not just speaking, but truly listening—has brought clarity and peace in times of uncertainty. The struggle to discipline this habit is real; however, trusting that God's plan is better than our own brings a profound peace that surpasses understanding. When we stop trying to dictate our story and instead let God lead, we open ourselves to transformative growth and blessings beyond what we imagined.
