Are You Poor?
Let’s pray 🙏🏾 and get this day underway♥️!
Hey family! ☀️ This morning the Lord reminded me how EASY it is to OVERTHINK scripture and miss the SIMPLE TRUTH behind it🙏🏾. Matthew 5:3 isn’t talking about your BANK ACCOUNT, your STATUS, or your POSSESSIONS💰🚫. Jesus is talking about being POOR IN SPIRIT—that place where you KNOW you can’t do ANYTHING without Him🙌🏾✨.
To be POOR IN SPIRIT means you’re fully AWARE of your NEED for God💛. It means your HOPE, STRENGTH, HELP, and PEACE come from HIM alone💪🏾🕊️. And Jesus says those who live like THAT already have the KINGDOM👑🔥.
So today, ask yourself—Where am I placing my TRUST? My job?💼 My money?💳 My abilities?💡 Or the LORD, who supplies EVERYTHING I need🙌🏾❤️?
When you lean on HIM, you’re not lacking… you’re POSITIONED for the KINGDOM✨👑.

Reflecting on the concept of being poor in spirit has profoundly changed my perspective on life's challenges and blessings. It’s easy to fall into the trap of equating lack with financial hardship, but this spiritual teaching redirects us to a deeper awareness of our dependence on God. When I started embracing the idea that true poverty is about humility and recognizing our need for divine help, I found a new sense of peace and hope. One practical way I’ve incorporated this understanding is through daily prayer and meditation on scriptures like Psalm 121:1–2 and John 15:5, which remind me that my strength and help come from God alone. The prayer image in the article beautifully encapsulates this need: "God, help me. Here I am—I need You. I have nothing without You." It serves as a hopeful reminder to restore joy and trust in God’s presence and provision. Shifting focus from trusting my bank account or abilities to trusting God has opened doors for spiritual growth. It’s not always an easy process; doubts and fears can creep in, especially when facing financial stress or uncertainty. But the Kingdom mindset encourages leaning into faith rather than leaning on worldly securities. This spiritual position brings not just comfort but a sense of being empowered by something greater than ourselves. For anyone struggling with where to place their trust, I encourage you to take a step back and honestly ask yourself: Am I relying on my own resources or leaning deeply on the Lord? This question can ignite a transformational journey toward hope, peace, and spiritual abundance. Embracing being poor in spirit means acknowledging our limitations and embracing God’s unlimited grace and strength. It’s a beautiful, freeing path that leads straight to the Kingdom—and one that I find renewed strength following each day.
