There’s something really vulnerable about putting your work out into the world.

Focaccia? I could probably make it with my eyes closed at this point. 😂 I know how it’s going to look, how it’s going to taste, and how it’s going to turn out. It feels like home.

But cinnamon rolls? They’re still my “I’m learning” recipe.

I’ve been testing, tweaking, tasting, changing ingredients, adjusting bake times, and asking myself over and over, “Is this good enough?” Not because I’m scared to fail, but because when someone spends their hard-earned money with my little microbakery, I want them to get something I’m genuinely proud of.

These lemon blueberry cinnamon rolls might be my favorite batch yet. Soft, fluffy, filled with homemade blueberry goodness, and topped with a bright lemon glaze that makes every bite taste like summer. 💛🫐🍋

So here’s where I need your help…

At what point do you stop perfecting something and simply let people enjoy it?

Should I keep testing until I feel 100% confident? Or should I launch them on my Hotplate next week and continue growing from your feedback?

Sometimes I think the best recipes are built alongside the people who believe in you.

Tell me honestly… if these popped up on my Hotplate next week, would you order a pan? 👀💙

... Read moreBaking is often a personal and emotional journey, especially when you pour your heart into each batch as a home baker or microbakery owner. Perfecting cinnamon rolls—like these lemon blueberry ones—takes patience, repeated practice, and fine-tuning every detail from ingredients to bake time. From my experience, there's a delicate balance between striving for perfection and trusting your product enough to share it with others. While you want every roll to be impeccably soft and bursting with the right blend of lemon tartness and sweet blueberry filling, learning from early customer feedback is invaluable. It creates a collaborative atmosphere where your baking evolves alongside your community’s preferences. Launching your recipe even before it feels fully polished doesn’t mean settling for less; it means inviting others to experience your creation and contribute to its growth. Many successful bakers have found that their best versions came from iterations influenced by honest reviews and real-life tasting moments. The sweetness of homemade blueberry filling paired with a bright lemon glaze captures the essence of summer in each bite. And beyond the flavors, the process—testing ingredients, adjusting baking times, and imagining the final product—builds a deep connection with your craft and your customers. For those wondering when to stop refining and start selling: consider your confidence level balanced with openness to feedback. If you feel the rolls represent your passion and talent well, launching them could be the next exciting step. Plus, it opens doors to engage your audience through social media platforms like Hotplate or TikTok, sharing the journey and building a loyal following. Ultimately, baking is about sharing joy and comfort. So whether you’re an aspiring baker or a seasoned pro, embracing the learning curve with the people who support you makes the whole experience more rewarding and authentic.

Signs you’re in the right major 🌸🌸
I used to constantly ask myself: did I just waste a whole year? What if there’s better majors out there for me..? The truth is, no one really tells you what it’s like when you’re actually in the right major, they just tell you to do what you love, what if what you love is a moving target? So
