Maybe I’m wrong, but if a caveman can figure out:

“That hurt me. I won’t do that to someone else.”

then empathy isn’t exactly an advanced concept.

Yet somehow narcissists still struggle with it.

If you’re still trying to understand why they did what they did, my FREE masterclass on how to stop gaslighting yourself after narcissistic abuse is for you!

... Read moreReflecting on my own recovery journey from narcissistic abuse, I find the caveman analogy about empathy profoundly insightful. It breaks down a complex emotional concept into something primal and understandable. Genuine empathy, as the analogy suggests, is a basic form of intelligence — recognizing pain and consciously choosing not to inflict it on others. What often complicates healing is realizing that narcissists possess cognitive empathy. They understand what empathy looks like and can perform it on a superficial level when it benefits them. However, they lack the emotional resonance to truly feel others’ pain, which is why their harmful behaviors persist despite their awareness. This distinction was a turning point for me because it highlighted why trying to reason with or change a narcissist’s behavior often feels so futile. Their emotional disconnect means they don't experience remorse or care about the consequences of their actions on others. During recovery, I found it helpful to focus on strengthening my own emotional boundaries and learning to stop gaslighting myself — doubting my feelings or blaming myself for their abuse. Participating in supportive communities and educational resources, like free masterclasses on narcissistic abuse recovery, can offer practical strategies for rebuilding self-trust. Ultimately, understanding the limitations of narcissistic empathy empowers survivors to shift the focus inward, prioritize their own emotional well-being, and redefine relationships on healthier terms.

A mystical image featuring a glowing, cracked heart, a vintage compass, and a book titled 'The soul knows the way.' Text reads: 'THE ACHE THAT WAS NEVER WRONG. THE ACHE WASN'T suffering IT WAS MY SOUL remembering A COMPASS, NOT A PUNISHMENT.' Another quote says, 'What was once my deepest ache became my truest direction.'
The Ache That Was Never Wrong ✨
#heartache #longing #spirituality There are certain feelings that follow us through life quietly. An ache. A longing. A pull we cannot fully explain, even when we try to reason our way out of it. And for a long time, many of us interpret that ache as something broken within us. S

He probably just wanted to hit. Am I in the wrong?
NO! We are women we need boundaries and respect for ourselves. If he doesn’t try the first few days he won’t try in a relationship. I’d rather be single. 😂 #talkingstage #respect #datingadvice101 #datingadviceforwomen #fyp

Am I wrong for wanting my own ring??
So here’s the deal. My boyfriend proposed during a trip and I said yes. But the ring? It was actually meant for his ex. I knew about it early in our relationship he tried to sell it, I even helped. But since resale value was low, he kept it. Now I can’t stop thinking about it. He once planned th

Maybe we all got intimacy wrong
Have we been overcomplicating what it means to be close to someone? My partner and I just hung out at home with no agenda. We were on our phones, watching the world go by... and I've never felt more connected🤍 It's not abt constant talking or big romantic acts. It's abt feeling safe en

Am I Crocheting Wrong?
I just started learning to crochet about a week ago, and my first project is a simple scarf for my niece. I thought I was doing okay until my manager, who’s been crocheting for five years, told me I “have no clue what I’m doing.” Honestly, that crushed my confidence a little. I’m not even following
