College orgs I’ve joined

Over the past two years I have had the pleasure of joining two service organizations on campus. The first one is called Brighton a day where we do small acts of kindness from making cards to bouquets of flowers for people across campus. The next organization I’ve joined is auto Thon, which is a student lead dance marathon, where we raise money for upstate.

... Read moreJoining service organizations can greatly enrich your college experience and enhance your personal growth. In this article, I share my journey with two impactful organizations: 'Brighten a Day' and 'Auto Thon.' 'Brighten a Day' focuses on spreading joy through simple acts of kindness, such as making cards and creating flower bouquets for students on campus. This initiative helps to foster a sense of community and encourages students to engage in positive actions. On the other hand, 'Auto Thon' is a remarkable student-led dance marathon that raises funds for Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital, particularly supporting children battling cancer. Events like this not only allow students to unite for a crucial cause but also create lasting memories and friendships while giving back. Engaging in these organizations not only serves the community, but also builds leadership skills and connections with like-minded individuals. If you're considering joining a college organization, these groups exemplify how you can make a difference while also enjoying personal fulfillment. Whether it's through community service or raising awareness for important health initiatives, college offers numerous opportunities to get involved and leave a positive mark.
