You don’t have to keep carrying it...
Carrying bitterness and anger can feel like holding onto a heavy burden that saps your energy and peace. From personal experience, I found that embracing the advice in Ephesians 4:31-32 helped me tremendously: "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Initially, letting go was challenging because bitterness felt like a shield protecting me from being hurt again. However, I learned that holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to suffer—as the post says, "You don't have to keep drinking poison. Let Him heal it." Turning to Jesus for healing meant allowing compassion and forgiveness to replace resentment. It wasn’t an overnight transformation, but rather a journey of daily surrender and prayer. Joining supportive faith communities or discussions, such as those tagged in the original post (#ComeToJesus, #LetItGo, #HealingInChrist, #ForgiveAndBeFree), can provide encouragement and shared stories of healing. Through this process, I experienced a profound sense of freedom and emotional renewal. My relationships improved, and I felt lighter and more connected to God’s grace. For anyone struggling with bitterness, I encourage starting with small acts of kindness toward yourself and others, seeking spiritual support, and remembering that forgiveness is a gift you give yourself as much as others. Healing in Christ truly brings peace beyond understanding.
