Easiest Oreo Cake and so Tasty!
I tried the new Oreo Chocolate Cake mix and added in the matching pudding. It gives it more of a sponge cake like texture, and it would be totally fine as is!
I topped it with Oreo Cream frosting, chocolate ganache, and extra Oreos. This would be super fun to make with kids (and very simple.)
For the ganache, I used two parts chocolate to one part heavy cream. I wanted it to be thick, but still run over the sides of the cake.
I really loved this cake mix and need to go back and find the vanilla oreo cake flavor :)
Building on my super easy Oreo cake recipe, I've got even more tips and ideas to take your dessert game up a notch! While the basic cake mix and pudding combo makes for an effortlessly tasty treat, there are so many ways to customize it and make it truly your own, whether you're aiming for a show-stopping birthday cake or adorable mini delights. First off, for those thinking about an Oreo birthday cake, this recipe is a fantastic starting point. To make it extra festive, consider adding colorful sprinkles to your batter (or just on top of the frosting!). You could also create layers by baking two thinner cakes and stacking them with extra Oreo cream frosting in between. For a really grand presentation, try a white chocolate ganache drip instead of dark, or even tint it with food coloring. Imagine a pastel ganache flowing down! Personalize it with a simple 'Happy Birthday' message written in melted chocolate or with edible glitter. Many of you asked about the oreo sponge cake texture, and that's precisely where the pudding mix comes in! It works wonders for moisture and creating that delightful, soft crumb. For an even richer sponge, you can replace a portion of the water in the cake mix with milk or buttermilk, and add an extra egg yolk. These small tweaks make a big difference in the cake's density and flavor without much extra effort. Now, let's talk about Oreo cake recipe variations. If you're dreaming of a creamy Oreo cake, consider swapping out some of the heavy cream in your ganache for cream cheese, or even make a separate cream cheese frosting to pair with the Oreo cream frosting. Another fantastic idea is to add a layer of whipped cream mixed with crushed Oreos between cake layers for a lighter, yet incredibly decadent, touch. You can also mix a generous amount of crushed Oreos directly into your cake batter – I often find that adding about 200-250 grams (roughly 9.3 oz, or the amount in a small family pack) of finely crushed cookies really amps up the Oreo flavor throughout the cake, not just on top. For those looking for mini Oreo cake recipes or Oreo cake ideas for parties, this recipe scales down beautifully. Simply divide your batter into cupcake liners for Oreo cupcakes. The baking time will be significantly shorter, usually around 18-22 minutes, so keep an eye on them. You can also bake them in mini bundt pans or small ramekins for individual servings. Decorate each mini cake with a dollop of frosting and a mini Oreo on top. They're perfect for portion control and look absolutely adorable on a dessert table! To make this truly the best Oreo cake recipe, remember that good quality ingredients make a difference. While a cake mix makes it easy, using real butter in your frosting and good quality chocolate for your ganache elevates the taste. Don't be afraid to experiment with different types of Oreos too – mint, golden, or even seasonal flavors can create exciting new twists. Chilling your cake before slicing helps the ganache set and makes for cleaner cuts. Serve it with a cold glass of milk, a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, or a drizzle of chocolate syrup for an ultimate treat. Happy baking and enjoy creating your perfect Oreo masterpiece!
