Travel Season
So many colors and a bang for your buck.
Hey fellow adventurers! With 'travel season' officially here, I've been so excited, especially after snagging some amazing deals at places like Marshalls and TJ Maxx for my upcoming trips. You know, finding that perfect travel bag or those comfy yet stylish shoes (shoutout to my new Steve Madden sandals!) really gets me in the mood to explore. And with May being such a sweet spot for travel – before the peak summer crowds but with gorgeous weather – I wanted to share my top picks for countries to visit next month. First up, Italy! May in Italy is simply magical. The weather is warm but not scorching, perfect for strolling through ancient Roman ruins or exploring the charming streets of Florence. You can enjoy fewer crowds compared to July or August, especially in popular spots like the Colosseum or the Vatican. I loved visiting the Amalfi Coast in May; the vibrant colors of the cliffside villages, paired with the blooming flowers, felt exactly like the 'so many colors' vibe I live for! Plus, eating authentic gelato without melting instantly is a huge win. Next on my list is Greece. Imagine soaking up the Mediterranean sun on a beautiful island like Santorini or Mykonos, but with gentle breezes and pleasant temperatures. May is ideal for island hopping, exploring ancient sites like the Acropolis in Athens, or simply relaxing on pristine beaches. The sea is warming up, and most tourist services are fully open but not yet overwhelmed. The food, the history, the stunning blue waters – it’s an experience that offers a true 'bang for your buck' if you plan smart and enjoy fresh, local cuisine. For something a bit different, consider Japan. While April is famous for cherry blossoms, May offers beautiful spring weather with verdant landscapes and fewer tourists. It’s perfect for exploring bustling Tokyo, serene Kyoto temples, or even hiking in the Japanese Alps. The "Golden Week" holidays in early May can be busy, but after that, it’s a fantastic time to experience Japanese culture, incredible food, and efficient transport. The attention to detail in everything, from a high-quality (and often budget-friendly!) meal to meticulously crafted goods, really resonates with that 'bang for your buck' feeling. And trust me, you'll want comfortable, durable shoes, maybe some stylish Steve Madden sneakers, for all the walking you'll do! When planning your May getaway, always check the local weather forecasts, as conditions can vary, even within a country. Packing layers is always a good idea. And don't forget to look for those early-bird deals on flights and accommodation – that’s how I make sure my travel budget stretches further. May is truly an underrated month for travel, offering a fantastic balance of good weather, manageable crowds, and often better prices. Happy planning, and I hope these ideas inspire your next adventure!
