It took a moment and some therapy to realize I was in survival mode. It’s been hard, and I’ve been hard on myself, but I now know what’s going on with me. I am being firm but gentle with myself. I am slowly getting better. I’m just putting one foot in front of another and soon I will have walked a mile.
In times of distress, many individuals experience what is commonly referred to as 'survival mode.' This state can manifest as a response to stressors, causing a person to feel overwhelmed and disconnected. Understanding the importance of self-compassion during this phase is essential for healing. To regain balance, it’s crucial to carve out time for reflection and emotional processing. This may involve creating a safe space where thoughts and feelings can be explored without judgment. Remember, it’s okay to seek therapy or professional guidance during tough times, as this can provide crucial support and insight. Mindfulness practices, such as meditation or journaling, can also help you become more attuned to your emotions and reactions. Acknowledging your feelings and giving yourself permission to heal at your own pace fosters an environment where true recovery can flourish. When you finally align your heart and mind, you open doors to greater clarity and purposeful living. Embrace the moments of stillness, and allow yourself the grace to grow and evolve through the process.
