Be gentle with yourself 🫶

Given the things I’ve been going through, silently, and seeing others are suffering as well, I felt the need to share this for those that needed to hear they’re not alone and my messenger is open if you need to vent or talk.

Be Gentle with yourself. CPTSD makes healing feel impossible, but difficulty doesn’t mean failure. Recovery isn’t one big leap, it’s tiny, compassionate choices made again and again. You’re not weak for finding this hard; you’re brave for showing up at all.

This time of year can be very brutal for some people, many won’t tell you that. They’ll keep it hidden and suffer in silence. As I have. Life is a dumpster fire some days more than others, but I have to remember to be kind to myself and take one day at a time.

Do small things for yourself, no matter how small, just showing up for that day if that’s all you can muster, know that’s enough. ❤️

... Read moreLiving with CPTSD can often feel like navigating a maze without a clear exit. From my own experience, healing isn’t about sudden breakthroughs but the consistent gentle care we offer ourselves each day. One powerful approach is focusing on micro-moments of compassion—whether it’s taking a few deep breaths, journaling your feelings, or simply acknowledging your emotions without judgment. These small acts build resilience over time. For many, certain times of the year amplify feelings of isolation and overwhelm, especially when others seem to carry on unaffected. It’s normal to feel like you’re struggling alone, but opening up—even just a little—can create a lifeline. Reaching out to trusted friends, support groups, or even anonymous online communities can provide comfort and reduce the weight of silence. I’ve found that implementing simple self-care routines helps ground me during tough days. This might include mindful walks, nourishing meals, or setting realistic daily goals, no matter how small. Remember, survival itself is strength. Recovery with CPTSD also means forgiving yourself on days when things don’t go as planned. Progress isn’t linear, and setbacks don’t define failure. Embracing kindness toward yourself helps lessen the internal battle of self-criticism. Lastly, being gentle with yourself means listening actively to what your mind and body need. Advocating for your mental health, seeking professional help if necessary, and giving yourself permission to rest when needed are integral components of healing. You’re braver than you think by simply showing up for yourself consistently. This journey may be challenging, but it’s also profoundly courageous and worthy of compassionate support every step of the way.
