What I got to eat today 😁

JUST SO YOU KNOW: I definitely did not get enough calories or carbs today!! I usually eat more but being on deployment sometimes makes eating difficult. I have very little control over what’s cooked or how it’s cooked but I can choose the healthiest options available and control my portion sizes. I’m very grateful for this nourishing food today and counting down the days until I’m home again 🙃

Generally, adult woman needs about 1,800 to 2,400 calories, while men's needs range from 2,200 to 3,000, depending on levels of activity. Monitoring macronutrients – proteins, fats, and carbohydrates – is vital. For instance, proteins help repair and build tissues, especially for those engaged in physically demanding tasks. It's best to incorporate lean proteins, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables whenever possible. Understanding how meals break down into macronutrients can aid in planning balanced meals. Tracking daily intake using apps or journals can help reach individual calorie and nutrient targets. Being mindful of hydration is equally important; water should be prioritized to maintain energy levels and overall well-being. As I navigate my meals, I remain grateful for the nourishing foods I do have access to, and I look forward to returning home to have control over my food choices once again.
