Wha is your scary & wonderful thing?

This is a year of doing the scary, wonderful things.

For me, that looks like hiking alone in the woods.

Something that always scared me.

Not because it wasn’t safe—but because it was unknown.

And I’m learning the difference.

There’s fear that exists to keep us physically safe.

And then there’s fear that shows up right before expansion.

Right before freedom.

Right before something better than we could’ve imagined.

I’m no longer letting the second kind dictate my choices.

This is my year of choosing my soul over fear.

Of listening to the quiet pull instead of the loud doubt.

Of trusting that excitement and fear can sit in the same body—and still mean yes.

What’s you’re scary but wonderful thing?

... Read moreStepping into what scares us is often the gateway to profound personal growth. I've personally experienced this through solo hiking — something that once felt intimidating because of the unknown, not danger. It's a perfect example of how fear can serve two distinct purposes: to protect us physically or to signal an opportunity for expansion and breakthrough. When I first started hiking alone, my heart would race not from the risk of the environment, but from facing the unfamiliar. Over time, I discovered that walking through this fear was less about conquering danger and more about embracing new parts of myself. It’s like standing at the edge of a vast forest and knowing that every step forward is both scary and wonderful. What helped was recognizing the difference between fear rooted in real safety concerns and the fear that arises just before a breakthrough. The latter is often a sign that something exciting and transformative awaits on the other side. This mindset shift transformed my approach to challenges — from avoidance or hesitation to curiosity and acceptance. I've learned to listen to the subtle pull of my soul rather than the loud, critical voice of doubt. This practice invites a sacred yes — a commitment to pursue what feels alive and true, even when paired with anxiety. Embracing that fear doesn’t cancel excitement; rather, they coexist, creating a powerful dynamic that drives growth. If you’re wondering about your own ‘scary and wonderful’ thing, consider what unknown experiences you’re avoiding because of fear. Is it public speaking, starting a new career, traveling alone, or expressing your true self? Often, these fears hide opportunities to expand your freedom and fulfillment. Choosing to honor your soul over fear isn't always easy, but it leads to a courageous path of becoming. Each step taken with intention and vulnerability is a step toward a richer, more liberated life. Remember, growth is rarely comfortable, but it is always worthwhile. So, what’s your scary yet wonderful thing? Reflect on it, embrace it, and let it guide you toward your own beautiful transformation.
