... Read moreI’ve been passionate about soapmaking for a while now, and working from my studio in Bridge Creek, OK, I find that the process is as rewarding as the finished product. Making soap involves a combination of precise measurements, quality ingredients, and creativity. One important tip I always follow is to ensure that all ingredients, including lye and oils, are measured accurately using a digital scale for safety and consistency. I love experimenting with natural additives like essential oils, herbs, and clays, which not only enhance the soap's scent and appearance but also add skincare benefits. For example, using lavender oil can create a calming aroma, while oatmeal provides gentle exfoliation. Keeping the workspace clean and organized also makes the process smoother and safer. Sharing my progress on platforms like TikTok has connected me with other soapmakers and enthusiasts, inspiring me with new techniques and ideas. Whether you're just starting out or looking to improve your craft, patience and practice are key. Remember, every batch teaches you something new, and the joy of creating handmade soap is unmatched.
