Ellie Mack was the perfect daughter. She had perfect hair, perfect grades, even the perfect boyfriend. Her mother, Laurel Mack adored her. Her sister, Hannah, wanted to be her. They both vied for her attention.

Then one day Ellie was gone. Nobody saw her walking down the street to the library across the road from her odd tutor, Noelle Donnelly’s home. No one saw her go inside Noelle’s house. No one ever saw her again.

That is, until Floyd comes into Laurel’s life, ten years later. He’s the perfect charmer. He’s the kind of guy she needs. He has a young daughter named Poppy.. who looks just like Ellie Mack.

This book was.. heart palpitation inducing.

I had a hard time with the main character, Laurel Mack at first. Then the book went on and I began to understand her more.

Lisa Jewell does a fantastic job of writing an antagonist character. When we see into the mind of them, you truly feel so much resentment and anger. It’s amazing that (Jewell) was able to invoke such emotion!

The amount of twists and turns this story takes us down, will leave you dizzy and confused at times. But know that it ALL comes together in the end. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t recommend this enough. You will be shocked!!
