When I prepare these snacks at home or buy them from local markets, it feels like welcoming good fortune for the year ahead. One of my favorite snacks to enjoy during the holiday is pineapple tarts. Their sweet and tangy flavor symbolizes wealth and prosperity. I often make a batch to share with family, and it always brings smiles around the table. Another classic are candied lotus seeds, which represent fertility and family harmony. For those looking to try something new, almond cookies are both crunchy and fragrant, making them a perfect tea-time treat during the celebrations. If you love something chewy, glutinous rice balls (tangyuan) enjoyed in sweet soup symbolize reunion and togetherness. Exploring these snacks connects me to cultural roots and creates wonderful memories with loved ones. Whether homemade or store-bought, Chinese New Year snacks make the celebration even more special by honoring tradition and spreading festive cheer.
